Yes we can make a difference !

"Everybody can be great because everybody can serve..."
- Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King excerpt from “the Drum Major Instinct”

Seton Hall University Jubilee Hall 10am-5pm

South Orange New Jersey

The problems faced by our society require a CHANGE in our thinking, a transformation in our approach to solving our COMMON problems. The old, divisive ways do not work. It’s time for each and every one of us to step forward and embrace our greatness. But this definition of GREATNESS is the one defined by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, as being measured by our ability to SERVE.

The Visions of a Better World Festival is a celebration of the Joy of Service. You don’t have to be an Einstein to serve; you don’t have to be rich to serve. Service is DOING SOMETHING, however small, to make your world, OUR world a better place.

This festival is designed to share inspiring, dynamic yet practical and FUN ways YOU can help to create a BETTER WORLD.

Festival activities include: speakers, workshops, programs, stories of hope and inspiration, film, art, poetry, an essay contest for HS Juniors with a prize of $500, activities and programs for adults, adolescents and children alike, volunteer booths and much more…

The age of enlightenment brought about a needed evolution in the human Mind. The current age of enLOVEnment will bring about a necessarily evolution of the human Heart and Soul.

The purpose of this conference is to inspire a humanitarian consciousness. to motivate people to make a personal contribution to creating a better, more compassionate world. We wish to demonstrate, using creative, dynamic and compelling techniques various ways, many of them simple each individual or group of individuals can make a difference.  We will accomplish this goal with 6 types of programs that aim to:

Change Mental Attitudes
In order to make a difference, we have to believe we can do it. We must change our innate belief systems regarding our ability to effect change as well as our attitudes toward our planet, animal life and our fellow human beings.

Motivate and Promote Humanitarian Response
Often, people need to be educated either to invoke their compassion, or to show why it is in their best interests to engage in certain behaviors. Once they receive the facts, they are likely to become more motivated to change.

Suggestions to Create Possitive Change
These include practical activities, many of them simple, that people can do that if done in large enough numbers, can make a difference.

Enhance Health and Well-being
We live in a busy, stress-filled world. It will be difficult to have the energy to contribute to world betterment if we do not have adequate ways of
relieving stress and maintaining our health.

Promote a Shift to Compassionate Values
In order to create lasting impact our values as a society have to change from that of a material, consumerism to one that values compassion, inclusiveness, Goodwill and a humanitarian consciousness.

Celebrate Our Spirituality
Spirituality provides meaning and purpose to approximately 95% of the World’s population. For many, it provides the foundation upon which they base their lives. Spirituality uplifts and provides an ideal toward which to work and is crucial to creating a better, more compassionate world.

We anticipate having a keynote speaker and making luse of a large auditorium for that purpose. We will also have at least 6 break-out room for various workshops.  We will also invite non-profit organizations to be on site to distribute information and encourage volunteerism.

There will also be an essay contest for HS Juniors with a prize of $500, Skits, Activities and programs for adults, adolescents and children alike!
