Subject: What is Your Vision of a Better Community/Better World?

Length of Essay: 1200 - 2000 words (approximately 3-4 pages).

Format: Microsoft Word in Arial font size 12.


Eligibility:
  New Jersey High school juniors and seniors (class of 2010 and 2011)


Judging: Three winning essays will be selected on the basis of the following 5 guidelines:

  • Clarity of the material
  • Well organized
  • Clear vision/plan of how to make a better community/better world
  • Practicality of the vision/plan
  • Personal contribution to implementing the vision/plan
plagiarism in any form automatically disqualifies contestant. The decision of the judges is final.

Deadline:  Essays are to be submitted by e-mail to VisionEssay@gmail.com by Midnight September 18, 2009. Please include your name, high school, class of 2010 or 2011, e-mail address and phone number.

Prizes will be awarded at the Visions of a Better World Conference on October 10, 2009 at Seton Hall Univerity, Jubilee Hall.  Winners will read their essays before a live audience.
